Do you want to take your foundational rope skills a step further? Do you want to combine patterns and techniques to reach new heights?
Come and join us, as we give you both the theoretical and practical knowledge to go from basic ties to semi-suspensions - fun, educational and truly engaging rope experiences are just a few knots away!
Description:
This course will build on the basic knowledge acquired, enabling students to develop their tying skills and repertoire. The ties will incorporate more intricate patterns, and more parts of the body. During the course, participants will start to explore uplines, eventually building to partial (and possibly full) suspensions.
Pre-requisites::
Beginners’ course or equivalent, including ability to tie a safe and stable single and double column tie. Knowledge of own and partners’ boundaries and limitations. Body awareness, ability to communicate effectively with partner.
Safety, curiosity, consent and respect are expected throughout.
Participants' development:
Throughout the 3 modules we will cover, amongst other:
Rope control and management
Uplines, suspension lines and safety
Gotes & harnesses
Ties for the lower body
Ties for the whole body
Partial/semi- suspensions
Named patterns
Please bring:
Appropriate clothing
Safety shears
Minimum 8 lengths of rope (6-10m each, as needed)
Minimum 2 carabiners
Teaching format
We will begin each tie with a demonstration including alternatives that can be used, depending on the comfort and experience levels of the tying partners.
Each demonstration will include open-ended options for participants to add and develop in accordance with their own boundaries, intentions and profiles.
During all ties, we will encourage you to look for alternative solutions and guide you if needed.
We will support you at all times.
