Hello! Today we are talking to DJ TimTim, also known as TimTim666 on Fetlife. He and his partner Ori came to RopeSpace as our first international instructors and performers on the 22 & 23rd August. <\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We managed to grab a chat with them before they travelled back to Germany and are delighted that we can share their stories with you.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve decided to keep you waiting for Ori\u2019s input, which will come next month. This couple had so much wonderful knowledge to share, that we thought it would be a shame to try to squeeze it into just one edition of this blog.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>So to start off, let\u2019s hear a little about you, Tim?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0T<\/span>: Hello! We are joking, that I am \u201cjust\u201d the bunny(!) Though to be a little serious: Together we are Ori & Tim from northern Germany, travelling around in our mobile home. I work as a DJ as well as being part of this partnership where we do our ropes and events and teaching.<\/p>\n

For me, rope is more for the sport and challenge. I don\u2019t just fit into one box of identity \u2013 in Shibari I see myself as Ori\u2019s bunny. In BDSM I switch, and I feel a bit more of a \u201ctop\u201d than a \u201cbottom\u201d. My role changes, and in events I think I am more of a \u201cpartner\u201d. In the partnership I have with Ori, I share ideas with her when I think about what could look good in a show or something \u2013 but in the end she has to be the one to decide, and say whether it is possible or not, and good for the performance.<\/p>\n

We know that you – both – have so much to share. It is so exciting to sit here together and learn from you, so let’s get going: What got you started out with rope?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Because of Ori!<\/p>\n

Before Ori, I was in the scene but not using ropes. Rope is something that I have come to use because of our relationship. I like it, I\u2019ve learned about it in workshops, and I enjoy tying Ori but… she is a pro! And I am a beginner \u2013 which makes me feel shy!<\/p>\n

(Here, Ori interjects!<\/em> \u00a0– \u201cI have watched sessions where he has tied others, and I think they felt really really<\/em> good!\u201d

So, what I want<\/em> to do in rope, and what I can actually, technically do, are different. I have so many ideas for using ropes for sex, but I can\u2019t translate these thoughts through my fingers. I note down inspirations and then we come back to them together.<\/p>\n

We know the feeling! We are all beginners at some time. And on that note –\u00a0 would you have any advice for people who are just starting out? Anything that was important for you when you began with ropes after meeting Ori? <\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

(Laughing) Ask Ori!<\/p>\n

The way I feel about ropes and tying is probably not typical for many of those who tie or get tied. I see many feeling like the ropes are hugging them, and they can go into sub space. For me, tying is something to use for sexuality. If someone ties me, and it\u2019s a workshop then it\u2019s of course not emotional and we are learning. Otherwise, it\u2019s more the sport and the challenge. In our shows, when we have an audience, it\u2019s like a game \u2013 we are playing. In bed, it\u2019s for sexuality. I think we can say, I\u2019ve found my own personal way to enjoy ropes – which other people could also do for themselves.<\/p>\n

We know you’ve had some incredible times with rope. What about some of your favourite, fun or best memories? <\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Oh YES! This one, it was so funny!<\/p>\n

\u00a0When we tied our friend together \u2013 Ori was on the right, I was on the left, and we were tying their legs.<\/p>\n

Typical for Ori, she tied them pretty tight. And everyone was looking at me, thinking \u201cahh that\u2019s the bunny\u201d and I tied really loose. And our friend was only looking at the leg Ori tied. The tightly tied leg.<\/p>\n

And so I wait. And wait.<\/p>\n

And wait.<\/p>\n

And look at their face.<\/p>\n

\u00a0And then PULL!<\/p>\n

My ropes went so, SO tight and our friend just goes \u201cfuuuuuck\u201d because of that, and straight out into subspace. And it was so awesome!<\/p>\n

\u00a0And yeah \u2013 then all the people around us, all those people watching could look at me and go, \u201cok, he is not just the bunny!… he is also kind of a little sadistic, right?!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Oh, and another! When we were thinking about what we could do on a spiderweb we were tying on. It was up on a truss, and we went to the top of the truss and sat opposite each other all the way up there. Ori tied me up there, and I was balanced right at the top, and then<\/p>\n

WHOOSH!<\/p>\n

She pushed me off the top and I fell into the ties she had put on me, and that feeling, it was SO nice! So SO cool!<\/p>\n

It was like bungee jumping without the bungee! It was such a nice moment. Such a great feeling.<\/p>\n

\u00a0(Ori: I did make a LOT of suspension points!)<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>It felt really good. I like the feeling of falling. Of course, I tensed all my muscles, to stop me from getting a shock, and protected myself. It was so good!<\/p>\n

We can’t stop laughing! It feels like we have been in your memory and shared those moments with you – thank you. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And as we close out – how about any wishes for the future? What are your hopes and dreams for your rope journey? <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

For the community to work together. Not to make things into a competition \u2013 I like the community, like we have with you at RopeSpace. We are friends, we work together, and we can show and share and collaborate and grow together.<\/p>\n

I like this so much. I wish for us to all to inspire each other together.<\/p>\n

\u00a0And I really want to carry on training and practising before performances and workshops. That helps me to feel confident and know we have created something great, and that safety is covered. I would say it\u2019s like being in a band: if you want to make good concerts you have to train a lot. I feel it\u2019s the same with rope. I want to make sure everything is perfect \u2013 that the acrobatics we do are exactly on point with the music.<\/p>\n

We saw that in your show on Saturday \u2013 the shoulder stand and roll for example – exactly in time with the music. It was awesome! Thank you so much for this talk, and we can\u2019t wait to see you in Meerleben<\/a> <\/em>\ud83d\ude0a<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
