Hello again! Do you remember last month where we spoke with Tim and Ori while they were at RopeSpace as our first international teachers and performers? We had such a wonderful conversation with them that we couldn\u2019t do justice to their input if we kept it in one instalment. So here is the part of the conversation we had with Ori \u2013 enjoy!<\/em><\/p>\n

So hello Ori, and thank you for this amazing weekend together. Just to get started, could you tell us a little about yourself?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0O<\/span>: Yes, I am Ori, we are Ori and Tim, and we are here from Northern Germany. We travel a lot with our mobile home, we do ropes and events together. Events are a huge part of our life, and we often combine everything we do in this scene & community into the events. We don\u2019t just do rope or music or BDSM parties \u2013 we often mix it all together. A wonderful community has grown out of this, and I enjoy living in that.<\/p>\n

In terms of our rope style together \u2013 it is challenging, acrobatic, and one of my other favourites is to connect with someone on the floor \u2013 with a lot of Ichinawa, body handling, semi-suspensions \u2013 slowly, so I can watch the person I\u2019m tying.<\/p>\n

There is a long journey behind where you are today \u2013 could you share a little with us about how you got started in ropes?<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I started when I was 26, but I had been thinking about ropes as a concept for a long time before that. I started because I had the thought that it might be a nice sensation and I wanted to feel the \u201chug\u201d of rope while I also wanted to explore the sexuality side of it.<\/p>\n

That of course meant I needed a partner. It took me quite a long time to find one, and we started out by going to BDSM munches, and then to jams in our hometown.<\/p>\n

I started out with the modelling side, and it was after about half a year that I started to tie myself, and friends, but not with any idea of going further than that, at the time<\/p>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.6″ text_font=”||||||||” custom_padding=”||0px|||” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]<\/p>\n

When you think back to how it was for you starting out, would you have any advice or suggestions for other people who are curious, or just starting in rope now? <\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Some things helped me a lot. I really wanted to share my love of ropes with other people at the beginning \u2013 it was like a new world, this huge eye-opener for me. That I could share so much through this medium of rope!<\/p>\n

And that meant I learned that I needed to find out who I wanted<\/em> to tie with, and who there wasn\u2019t a match with. So, I would say – it doesn\u2019t matter whether you give or take ropes: it is important to figure out when you have chemistry with a person.<\/p>\n

Having a session with the wrong person \u2013 that feels worse that saying no in the beginning. It\u2019s actually nicer for both of you – you and the other person – to say no if that\u2019s the right answer to the question. I also learned to say, \u201cI would like to get to know you more before I can decide, and I may still say no, but that isn\u2019t a bad thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not that easy to say no. I could like you very much as a person, and not want to hurt you, but still not have the feeling that we want to tie together.<\/p>\n

We can realise that a \u201cno\u201d shouldn\u2019t hurt. I think I can say, \u201cno \u2013 but it\u2019s not your fault\u201d. That is a challenge to learn, but it is really important.<\/p>\n

It was a really deep story, thank you for being so open and inspirational. Really something we can take with us and use in our daily lives. <\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

As we move on \u2013 perhaps you can share some of your best or happiest memories from your journey so far? <\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Creating spaces is a huge topic for me. My best memories are created when I host people and they are just happy. Like the retreats that I organise: I love to make safer spaces. I love to create spaces where people can \u201cbe\u201d. Every time, every year, I get new memories from these events, and I am so happy.<\/p>\n

They are wonderful events, we know that personally! <\/em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We are ready to end this chat, and our last question is about your hopes, dreams and wishes for the future<\/em>?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I hope for the community. That we can share feelings \u2013 rather than being in competition. I also wish for a new training space for myself! It was amazing when I had a space of my own and I could train whenever I wanted to. I would love that again, and it makes it so much easier to train. I would be able to try out new ideas, rather than book a room and be forced to have my best ideas right there and then!<\/p>\n

I would like to carry on training for workshops, practise new things that I am learning, test out new ideas, explore new topics, and work more on how to teach new topics.<\/p>\n
