Hello again! Here we are, landing after a wonderful time at Erotic World & a busy month! Instead of interviewing just one person, we are putting together some insights from all the people we met over the 3 days.

Could you tell us a little about yourself?

People from all walks of life came past the stand. The diversity was truly amazing, and fully represents our motto: “Rope can be for everybody and Every Body”.

Across the spectrum of age, gender, approach, experience – the curiosity and energy was mind-blowing; that we can all meet around one common interest, no matter whether our ropes are for the bedroom or for art, whether we are the one tying, being tied, switching, or self-binding.

Could you share a little with us about how you got started in ropes?

We were amazed at how many people were curious about ropes, and we fielded many questions from those who were unsure how to begin.

We recommend taking a course in person, rather than online, as there is a huge amount of feedback that you receive when your instructor can see how you are tying, and where you as a tying pair can be guided in exploring this new path together.

We gave a practical demo on our BDSM stage each day, with HUGE thanks to all our friends and instructors who helped out – and to our MASSIVE bag of “låne reb” (ropes you can borrow), so all those who wanted to tie their firsts knots, could get a chance!

Would you have any advice or suggestions for other people who are curious, or just starting in rope now?

See above!

Taking that first step can be the biggest challenge. We have a space on our website called “Getting Started in Rope” // Kom i Gang med Reb

Here at RopeSpace we offer different workshops and open evenings that are suitable even for those with very little experience. Our Space Holders and Instructors are always willing to help out, and give you some advice.

Take things slowly, make sure you feel safe and welcome, and have the attention that you need.

As we move on – perhaps you can share some of your best or happiest memories from your journey so far?

Moving away from this month’s Erotic World for a moment – it would be reaching a milestone first birthday! Having the courage to create a space that resonates with us, our values, and our desire to bring quality tuition, and an open, non-judgemental space to the community has been an incredible journey.

We’ve already expanded to West Zealand with our space in Mørkøv, which is more than we could have dreamed of at the start.

We began as a handful of friends, and are now trend-setting, with international visitors. It’s amazing to think back!

…and our last question is about hopes, dreams and wishes for the future?

We hope for this community. We wish to grow even further, meet even more wonderful people and continue to see the fabulous friends we already have. 

Our biggest wish will be to have a designated space of our own in central Copenhagen… watch this space
